My Good Deed Of The Day

Today, I did something that I've always wanted to do: I donated blood. I thought that you had to be 18 to donate, but I found out that you can be 16 with a parents consent or 17 without one. A lot of places around here have been having blood drives, so I was happy to finally be apart of one. It was actually really fun too! I got a lot of neat stuff and it all was for a good cause. To me, I've always thought that if I needed blood, I would TAKE it. So, if I was willing to take something, why wouldn't I GIVE that something back?

Saving lives while sippin' on Diet Dr. Pepper...it doesn't get any easier than that!

Anywho, I did my good deed for the day.

Wow! I honestly can say that I'm shocked that 2011 is almost over. I always get a little sad and slightly excited on New Years Eve. It's the end of one thing, yet the start of something new. I guess you could say it's kinda bittersweet. A lot of changes are coming for me in the New Year. I'll be finishing up high school and then starting college. My life is about to change in 2012, but I'm looking forward to it in a way. So bring on the New Year! Here I come 2012...THE YEAR OF RAVEN! :)

I'm Back (& Not Dead)

I'M BACK!

See? I told you I wouldn't forget. I mean, it's only taken me what, 6 months? Okay, so maybe my break was a little longer than I intended. But, I'm here now and that's all that matters!

Since it's been so long since my last post, I should probably catch you all up a bit...lets see...

I'm a officially on the big decision of college. Yikes. It's makes me nervous just typing it. I'm actually looking more & more forward to college next fall though. I've narrowed it down to a few colleges: Tulsa University (I've toured it & I REALLY wanna go there), John Brown University, Hendrix University, & maybe Oklahoma State University.

Of course I've been busy Christmas shopping. So far, I've found ALMOST everything I've been looking for. With Christmas being only 6 days away, I need to get the ball rolling on that one.

I deleted my old Twitter account recently & made a new one. I'm slowly understanding the ins & outs of it. It's really cool too...maybe not Facebook cool, but still pretty cool. So, if you have a Twitter, follow me @21Ravens!

I'm in a play! This is the first time in almost two years that I'm back on stage. In those almost two years, I've done nothing but work backstage. I must say, I am so happy to be back acting in plays. I forgot how much I missed it. The play is a really good one too--it's called Sam & Laura. It's a love story about Sam Clemens (AKA Mark Twain) & a girl named Laura Wright, whom he was madly in love with. It's a really beautiful story, a true one at that. Mark Twain had this girl who basically invaded his thoughts and dreams for the course of his life. Nobody really knew about Laura Wright...it was almost like a secret love interest of Mark Twain's. I play the Young Laura Wright.

Well, of course a lot more has happened, but I think I'll stop here. I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm back!

A Little Break

Rocklahoma 2011

I went to Rocklahoma for the first time last weekend. I can safely say that I had just about the best weekend of my life. The lineup for Rocklahoma was AMAZING this year. Usually the lineup is so-so, but not the 2011 one. It had a great mix of old and new artist. On Friday night, there was Whitesnake, Hinder, Skillet, Sick Puppies, All That Remains, My Darkest Days, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Texas Hippie Coalition, New Medicine, Bad Things, Wildstreet, Loveblast, D'Molls, Alias, Blue Tiger, Firststryke, Chuck Coolet and the Demon Hammers, Signum A.D., Silverstone, and Return to Custody. Saturday had Staind, Sebastian Bach, Drowning Pool, Rev Theory, Cavo, Pop Evil, The Gracious Few, Hail The Villain, Taddy Porter, Electric Touch, Gypsy Pistoleros, Cutlass, Mock Star, Aura Surreal, Aska, Strikeforce, Siva Addiction, A Good Fight, Bait, Rock Lips, and Sweatin' Bullets. Sunday--which was one of the best nights in my opinion--had Mötley Crüe (Ahhhh!), Poison, Papa Roach, Seether, Black Label Society, Saving Abel, Escape The Fate, Crooked X, Art of Dying, One Less Reason, Bad Things, The Glitter Boys, Black Tora, New Cool World, Pretty Little Suicide, Diemonds, Brandon Clark Band, David Castro Band, and Desi and Cody. See what I mean about the lineup?! Ahhhh-mazing.

Of course I took a ton of pictures. I tried to get a few of each band that hit the mainstage, although I did get some of the ones on the smaller stage...

Day 1

Aside from Saturday's lineup, I was really excited about Fridays. I got to meet two bands on Friday--Skillet & Sick Puppies! My friend got a meet & greet pass from KMOD for Skillet. He just walked up to the KMOD booth at Rocklahoma and told them how much of a Skillet fan he is and they gave it to him! The meet & greet got him in plus one of person (me).

First things first--wow, it has sure been a long time since I last posted. I honestly haven't signed into my Blogger account in a while.

Second things second--it's my April Photo Diary! Before I begin it, let me say this: right before I went to Prom (And I mean RIGHT BEFORE--I was getting my hair fixed at the time of it happening), my dear camera broke...sorta. I use "sorta" because my camera works just find, but the viewfinder is broke. Sooo, in other words, I can still take pictures, although I can't see what I am taking a picture of. *SIGH* Must buy new camera...

Broken Cammie=Broken Heart

As much as I hate to say this, but I think I'm going to have to say goodbye to my dear camera, Cammie. :( It sorta broke (Yes, I do mean SORTA) on me on one of the worst nights to do so: Prom night. It happened while I was fixing my hair. I turned on my camera to take some pictures and the screen was all zig-zaggy and you couldn't even tell what you were taking a picture of. After I held back some tears (Because that's how I act when it comes to my camera), I realized that aside from the fact that I couldn't see what I was taking a picture of, I could still take pictures (See what I meant about "sorta broke"?). I was able to take pictures before and at Prom, which was a blessing! Hahaha. I'll be posting pictures from Prom soon--just thought I would share my mini crisis!

Pfffft Shoes...

I can't believe that in just five days, I'll get to wear my big poofy Prom dress! Prom has come up so fast. It seems like just yesterday when I was wondering how long it would be until I could wear my dress. Now the time is almost here!

Even as excited as I am for Prom, there are still somethings I need for the night. For starters, shoes. I mean, you can't really go somewhere without SHOES. I went shoe shopping ALL DAY LONG yesterday and I still could not find anything. Though, I did find out that...

1. Nowhere really has the high heels with with a ribbon that laces-up around your calf that I want.

2. I can't walk in heels. (Big surprise!)

Maybe I should just wear glitter TOMS?? Not really the look I was going for, but it could work...possibly. Well, I guess I have five days still to look. I'll either find them in that amount of time or it's hello glitter TOMS!

DRESS!!

After just shopping at two stores, I found a Prom dress! It's so beautiful that I can't believe I found it. Well, I actually didn't find it--My Mom did. She picked it out and I tried it on. It's funny, because it wasn't really love at first sight, if you will. I loved it, but I almost hated finding a dress so soon into Prom dress shopping. I tried it on one more time and realized that it doesn't really get any better than this...

See what I mean?! As lame as it may sound, the dress makes me feel like a Princess! All I need are shoes and a clutch. I have lots of clutches, just not sure if any will go with the dress. I want to find a pair of heels that have a ribbon that you lace up around your calves. You can't see much of the shoes in this dress, but I still want to find something cute. :)

I'll make sure to post pictures once I go to Prom, which is late next month!

I Have Been Plummed!

Okay, okay, I'm sure you all are wondering what Plummed means. Plumes are feathers that are beaded into your hair. They come in all different colors and sizes. Today, I got two small Plumes in my hair...one hot pink and one blue. I just had to have feathers in my hair. I mean, it is just so fitting with my name and all! Hahaha.

I plan on getting more in different colors. :)

I Dream of...

One of my many weird fascinations is dreams. I've always gotten a joy out of looking up what my dreams mean. It's crazy how the interpretations always hit it right on (Well, sometimes). I think we all dream for a certain reason. Call me crazy, but check out what I've been dreaming lately and the interpretation on them (Thanks to dreammoods.com)...

Tomatoes

The other night, I dreamt that I was in France (Sadly, there was no interpretation on "France") and a man offered me a tomato. I kindly told him, "No thank you" (Which I tried to say in French). When I looked up what it meant to dream about tomatoes, this is what I found out:

To see a tomato in your dream, symbolizes domestic happiness and harmony.

To dream that you are eating tomatoes, foretells of good health.

By saying "No thank you" to a tomato, does that mean I'm saying "No thanks" to "domestic happiness and harmony?" I wonder...Hahaha...

New York City

On a different night, I dreamt that I went to New York City (Dang, I travel a lot in my dreams!). I went there last year, but it was kinda funny to dream about it. What it means is:

If you do not live in New York, but dream that you are in New York, then it symbolizes your fast paced lifestyle. Perhaps things are moving too fast and you are unable to keep up with the demands of everyday life. Alternatively, the dream represents your desires for more excitement in your life. Or you are striving for success in your professional career. Known as "the big apple, dreaming of New York City could mean that you need to eat a more healthy diet.

Wow, now that dream could have a lotta meanings! Not sure which ones fits best for me though...

While I was in New York in my dream, I ate cheesecake. I find it strange that the site has an interpretation on cheesecake but not France...

I love Valentines Day. I never understand why people always make this big fuss about finding a date or being single today. To me, Valentines Day is about celebrating love and the ones you love, not about your relationship status. You all are probably thinking, "Yeah, she's just saying this because she's not single." Nope, I'm single and I've always loved Valentines Day. But, you know I'm kinda weird, so that could be why. ; )

Photo Diary-December 2010

I really didn't take as many photos as I would have liked to last month. It's a shame too because it was the last month in 2010. It doesn't mean that I didn't take any though!

Golden Voice

I'm sure you all have heard about the "Homeless Guy with the Golden Voice". I first came across this man when I was on Facebook. I watched it and was in awe with the way his voice sounded...it was amazing. Just think-in one moment, he is on the street, homeless. The next, he is doing interviews for the Today Show. We are 3 days into 2011. We are already 3 days into the New Year! I'm still getting over that fact this is a new year, with a new story, fresh start, and hopefully, a different beat. It's all about the change, baby!

2010...it was a good year. It was one filled with lots of growing up, learning, and finding out who I am in this big, big world. I learned that things don't always turn out how you planned or wanted them to. But, I also learned that when one door closes, another one opens. In my book, I think things ALWAYS happen for a reason, good or bad.

I must say, I am pretty happy that 2011 has begun. I'm excited what story it will tell. Let's hold on tight and see what adventure is in store for us...;)...

Can you believe that Christmas is just the day after tomorrow? Well, I can't. It's also hard to believe how fast this year has flown by. I must say, it's been an interesting year for me. But, that's another story and post! Right now, I'm talking about Christmas. ;)~

What is everyone wanting for X-Mas this year? What I'm wanting is a pair of TOMS, preferably a pair of glittery ones just like these...

One of my FAVORITE songs from John Mayer would have to be Daughters. It's one of the most beautiful songs instrumentally and lyrically. By the way, is "instrumentally" and "lyrically" real words or just something I made up?

I'm sure Daughters has a lot of different meanings to people. But to me, it's about a guy who falls in love with a girl that is somewhat complicated, closed off, guarded. He thinks the problem is him, then he realizes that maybe it has nothing to do with him. Maybe it has to do with the fact that her Dad wasn't good to her...or maybe it was her Mom...or MAYBE, just maybe, she had a really nasty boyfriends who didn't treat her well. This said girl let them shape her into the person she is today. So, like I said earlier, it didn't have anything to do with him!

Not sure if that's what everyone got off of it, but that's what I did!

I noticed that I went to more concerts than I usually go to. I went to see Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience and also saw Hinder (Again). Both were VERY good concerts!

Stacy-a lady I know who owns her own catering business-asked me if I would like to work with her for the day. Of course I said yes! I had a great time...I got to cook...serve food...and eat cake. (;

As much as I loved having super long, half way down my back hair, it just got to be too long. So, I had about 7 inches chopped off and some cute side-swept bangs cut in. You can't tell how much shorter it in this picture, but I REALLY loved the lighting in this photo!

November 26th

I didn't go shopping on Black Friday. So instead, I went with my Dad & brother to the skatepark to hang and get some pictures. I always like to get pictures of Ransome and his friends up there because they skate SO well.

My friend Jessica and I went to go see Hinder on this day! Even though I saw Hinder back in 2008, I still had to see them again. It was a great show, with Default & My Darkest Days as openers. Although I love Hinder, I would have to say that My Darkest Day was my FAVORITE band of the night. They rocked the house!

I thought it was really cool that My Darkest Day took down their own stage. They also set their stage up.

Looking back on my month of October, I can say that it was filled with a trip to New York City, finishing up a play I was in, and meeting Rock Stars! Kinda random, but that's just my life, babe. ;) Prepare yourself, 'cause I took a LOTTA pictures last month! Hope you like...

I decided to try on a wig at acting and wear it around.

.October 2nd.

I wanted to turn in some of my loose change for some extra cash for my trip. I thought I had a lot more than $14.50!

After that, it was time to go to the theatre. I was a little sad because it was our last performance! With that said, I had to get this picture...MY gangstah picture...

As soon as the performance was over, it was time for our CAST PARTY! We went to a restaurant that wasn't too far from the theatre. I hardly got any pictures, which is always a sad thing. The lighting was just so sucky inside the restaurant!

October 4th, otherwise known as the day I went to New York City!! It felt like forever to get there, I swear!

After many hours flying and riding, we finally made it to New York City! We stayed in Manhattan, probably a few blocks away from Madison Square Garden. Our hotel was called The New Yorker.

This is what I mean when I said I got to meet a Rock Star! Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe came to the Hard Rock Casino for a meet-and-greet! I was so excited! I found him at the bar, sitting between 2 blonde chicks. He wasn't as nice as I thought he would be, but I STILL took a picture with him!

For Halloween, I went over to Kristy's house to hand out candy and scare people by jumping up out of a coffin. She made me look freakin' scary! I called myself, The Living Dead Girl.

I was going through pictures today and found these photos that I took back in October. I took them while I was in downtown Tulsa, coming from a party. Dad told me to use the Night Mode setting on my camera to take a picture of Tulsa at night. The pictures turned out very interesting, with all of these swirly lines and such (Maybe that was partly do to the fact that we were going down the highway). Tell me what you think...

If you look at this month's photos, you can easily guess where I spent most of my time: The theatre. After taking a little break from the ol' theatre, I decided to be in a play. I wasn't center stage for this production though. I wasn't even on stage...I was backstage working as a stage manager. I did it once before and loved it. They were needing a stage manager for this show, so I thought I would like to do it again. I'm really glad I did, 'cause I had an amazing time!

My homeschool group and I went on a tour of the Pensacola Dam. I've been there once before on a tour, but didn't get pictures. I was super bummed this time though, 'cause we were going to go tour Harbor Village right afterwards. At least I got a few pictures!

Did you know that I have been doing my Photo Diaries for a whole entire year now?? I can't believe I've actually stuck with it! I'm going to have to give myself a pat on the back for that one. *Pats herself on her back*

I also can't believe that it's now October and I'm just now getting around to doing my August Photo Diary. I was really busy in the month of September though. I started doing another play (which ended last night) then. Not to mention, getting ready for my trip to New York City, which I leaving for tomorrow! :D I hope you understand that I have had a lot on my plate this past month.

Since forever, I have dreamed about going to New York City. I guess all of the action, excitement, and adventure always attracted me to The Big Apple. Oh yeah, that and the shopping opportunities...and the Broadway shows...not to mention, a GREAT place to take pictures.

After watching the movie The Runaways, I've found myself really interested in Joan Jett. I can't help but admire her style and attitude. She has ambition running through her veins, a uniqueness that she can call her own, edgy fashion sense, talent, and a "I don't care what anyone thinks about me" view on life to top it off. I guess you could say she is the female Nikki Sixx! Maybe that's what I like about her so much...

If you listen to a rock station, I'm sure you have heard Saving Abel's latest hit, Stupid Girl (Only in Hollywood). The Radio has really overplayed it, but I don't mind it one bit. Every time that song comes on, I turn it up. I don't know what it is about that song, but it really flows well. From the soft piano in the beginning to the inspiring lyrics, it's all good! I read on Wikipedia, that the song was inspired by a Marilyn Monroe quote. In the quote, she says, "A wise girl always kisses before she's kissed, leaves before she's left, and forgets before she's forgotten." Personally, I've never been a big fan of that quote...I've always thought it sounded rather cold. But, I AM, however, a fan of the song, so it's all good. ;)~ By the way, make sure to watch the music video link I have above. It is the BEST music video!
