I had the most killer idea today (killer...okay, so maybe watching Tommy Lee Goes to College made me have the sudden urge to type 'killer'). It came to me while I was standing in my great-great-aunt's yard, while I was looking at her potted flowers. I thought to myself, why not do a photo diary for a year? So, starting tomorrow, I'm going to take pictures of what I did that day, no matter how boring it is. I'll make sure and keep you all posted on my little photo diary adventure...

The Cat in the Hat's Hat
After working backstage this summer in Seussical Jr., I have found myself loving Dr. Seuss more then ever. I've had this idea of making the Cat in the Hat’s hat out of clay a long time now. So, the other day, I finally sat down and made it. It took me around an hour to make this cute little clay creation.
Here are some of the pictures I shot of this itty-bitty Cat in the Hat hat…

Seussical Jr.
Sunday was the last day of my play, Seussical Jr. I am kind of sad about that, since I love being involved with theatre so much. But, I guess all good things have to come to an end sooner or later. Like Dr. Seuss says, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
I did something very different in this play…something that I have never done in my 7 long years at Playmakers: I decided to work backstage as a Stage Manager. Let me tell you, Stage Manager is a very big pair of shoes to fill. We had to have 3 Stage Managers in this production because Seussical Jr. is a very large cast of 20 kids. All of the kids are ranging in age from 4 to 17 years old! So I think you can see the need for 3 Stage Managers.
Just in case you may be wondering what I did as Stage Manager, here is a short list…
1.Keeping the kids quiet backstage (this is probably one of the hardest ones)
2.Making sure the actor/actress has his/her props.
3.Presetting the stage
These all may sound easy jobs, but like I said, they are anything but. I think stage-managing is even been harder then actually being on stage…and I thought nothing was harder then that.
Here are some pictures I got at one of the rehearsals...
Katie, Riley, and Audry doing what they do best-being silly!
A close up of Riley
This picture would have turned out better if the mirror was clean. hee hee By the way, that boy is Dylan...or, what I like to call him, "Cat", because he plays (or should I say, 'played') the Cat in the Hat.
Kaemon
For some reason, Dylan and I decided to take a picture of his finger. That kid just cracks me up!
