Clay Making

I started having an interest in clay making after I read an article in one of my mom’s Family Circle (or maybe it was some other Mommy Magazine:) about making cute little desserts out of clay. The article showed how to make cupcakes, Birthday cakes, lollypops, etc. I can’t really remember much else about it because it has been about two years ago since I had read that article. Now mind you, these desserts (mainly the cupcakes) are smaller than a dime. So they are somewhat a challenge to make. Though I’m not the greatest at making them, I still love doing it!

Raven's Best Dressed List

The women I picked for Raven’s Best Dressed List are real women and a few characters off of my favorite TV shows. These women inspire me through fashion and elsewhere.

Carrie Bradshaw-Original, colorful and playful

Carrie Bradshaw is (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) a character off of the hit show Sex and the City. Her style is fashionable with a few elements of her own thrown in.

Signature Piece(s)- Manolo Shoes

Victoria Beckham-Posh Spice

No wonder Victoria is known as Posh Spice among the Spice Girls. Her look is high fashion for indeed.

Signature Piece(s)-I hate to say it, but I don’t have a SP for Mrs. Beckham :(

Cindy McCain-Classic…Never goes out of style

I always oogle (I don’t know if “oogle” is a word…I don’t really care if it is one or not!) over what Cindy McCain is wearing. She presents herself in a put together way.

Signature Pieces-A long pearl necklace, which she raps around her neck a few times.

Hillary Clinton-Simple Business Attire

Hey, you got to love “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuits”! Hillary’s pantsuits are like a box of Crayons, full of color!

Signature Pieces-Pantsuits (duh)

Steven Tyler-Over the top

Okay, I know Steven isn’t a woman, but I love his crazy sense of style! His outfits are full of color and lots of personality.

Signature Pieces-lots and lots of scarves and a feather (which he wears in his hair)

Gabrielle Solis-Spicy and Fierce

Gabrielle Solis is (played by Eva Longoria Parker) one of the main characters off of Desperate Housewives. Eva’s character is fresh off of the runway and it sure does show in her outfits. But if you tune into Desperate Housewives now, you will notice that Gaby’s style has gone down hill big time.

Signature Pieces-Anything designer!

Lauren Conrad-California Chic

California Chic: somewhat laid back with some trendy elements. Lauren also says that she loves to wear high heels!

Signature Pieces-High heels

Kat Von D-Edgy and with a girly-girl touch

I don’t think I would ever wear what Kat does, but I sure like how her outfits stand out from most!

Signature Pieces-A long feather earring.

Makeup

I have two philosophies when it comes to makeup:

1. Makeup is to bring out your natural beauty, not to cover it up
2. Makeup is another way of expressing yourself

I love makeup. Period. All colors and almost every brand. I look forward to putting on my makeup everyday. Matching my eye shadow to my outfit, trying different makeup trends, trying out a new I mascara I just got…the list goes on. So if you are having any troubles with your makeup, then you may want to read….

Raven’s Makeup Tips on…

Mascara

Best Products/Brands: Rimel London Glam ‘eyes, Rimel London Eye Magnifier, Mark Make it Big

Tips: Pay close attention to what mascara you are purchasing. Make sure that you are buying the right mascara for your lashes. AND…if you get any mascara on your eyelids while applying it, please, take the time to wipe it off!

Eye Shadow

Best Products/Brands: Avon, Bare Minerals (Radiant Rebecca is one of my favorites!), Cover Girl, Mark

Tip: Use a brush, not a sponge applicator. Sponges give a harsh, heavy hand look. While brushes give a natural, smooth, overall pretty look.

Eye Liner

Best Brands/Products: Smash Box,

Tips: Make sure to take your time when putting on eyeliner. Nobody wants or likes crooked eyeliner.

I don’t really use anything else…well, I take that back. I sometimes wear lipstick/lip-gloss…but I don’t have any tips on that…at least, not today. ;^)

Books I Want to Read in 2009

I love to read, but only if I'm “into” the book. I absolutely can not read a book if I'm not “into” it. Honestly, I would rather eat dog food then read a bad book. If I don’t fall in love with a book within the first few chapters, I can’t read that book. That’s just me. So you may be wondering what kind of books does this girl read…Well I read books where I can believe that particular thing happened to this person. No freaky, goblin, magic book for me! So...off the subject...I have made a list of books I want to read in 2009…

Secrets of My Hollywood Life: Family Affair-The third book in the series by Jen Calonita. In this book, Kaitlin is back on the set of Family Affair and there is a new girl on set, ready to steal her thunder. Secrets of My Hollywood Life: Family Affair is already out in stores, I just haven’t had the chance to get my hands on it!

High Voltage Tattoo-This book is about Tattoo Artist Kat Von D of the hit show LA Ink. Kat talks about tips on her beautiful works of art and a small look into her life

Tommyland-A biography on Mötley Crüe’s drummer Tommy Lee. Tommy gives you a deeper look into his life. “More of how I like my steak” he says.

Personal Sense of Style

I believe that your personal sense of style represents who you are as a person. My personal sense of style is all over the place and my personality is…well, all over the place.:) I don’t really lean to any sort of style…For example, some days I decide that I want to be all “preppy” and I pull out a button up sweater out of my closet and take out my pearls from my jewelry box. Then a few days later I’m bright and playful with a Peanuts hoodie, a red Snoopy shirt and tie-dyed converse shoes. I’m really all over the map when it comes to fashion and, um, my personality needless to say.
