Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!

Well...

It's New Year's Eve! I honestly can't believe a year has come and gone. Goodbye 2009, hello 2010!

As the clock ticks closer to midnight, I ask myself, "What have I done this year?"

Hmmm...let's stop and think for a minute...

Back in March (or maybe it was February...) I taught myself how to play the bass guitar. Which was and still is amazing! I've also learned that it is my favorite instrument to play; Probably always will be too. Next month, a few of my friends and I are starting a band. Guess what I'm playing?

My love of photography has gotten way deeper. I never knew how much I loved taking pictures until this year. Now, I can't seem to go anywhere without my camera. :)

I've met a few new people this year, who I've became great friends with!

My blog has managed to grow! I can't believe it...I now have 24 followers. It may not seem like a lot to you, but to me it is. And that's all that really matters, right?

My addiction to music has gotten worse this year. Which, I guess is a good thing! hahahaha My friend said that music is like the thing you can never OD on. Very true, very true...

And, for the most part, I've grown as a person (duh), learned lots, uncovered different things about myself, discovered new things, and rediscovered some old things too. I can't wait to start the new year and see what it has to bring for me...

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE READERS! May 2010 be filled with everything you desire and more!

My New 'Cammy'

For Christmas this year, one of my gifts was a camera. Yes, I now have my very own camera! Before that, I was using my Mom's because I broke my last. Don' ask...

My new "Cammy" (which is what I have decided to name her. Hee hee) is a blood red Nikon Cool Pix. It's a great little camera that I can take wherever I may go and tiny enough to keep inside my purse.

Of course, I'm still getting use to Cammy. It has so many different modes! Soooooooooo, yesterday I decided to take Cammy on a photo adventure.

But, before I show you the picture I got, let me just tell you that we had a White Christmas this year! I live in Oklahoma and it's pretty rare to see snow in December. I don't care who you are, if you celebrate Christmas you always hope and pray for a White Christmas!

Okay, now on with my snowy shots...

Something Disturbing...

My friend gave me this link to a very weird site. I don't even know how my friend finds things like this and it's kind of scary. Haha...It's a story about "The 13 Most Unintentionally Disturbing Children Toys". I must say, it is rather disturbing...take a look for yourself...

Fashion Inspiration

Back when I was around 8 or so, my grandy went to Europe. On her adventure in Europe, she stopped by Paris. When she arrived back home, she brought my family and I lots of different souvenirs...and one of those souvenirs was a black beret. My grandy was actually going to keep it for herself, but I really wanted it. But after I brought it home with me, something about the hat made me not want wear it. So, after 7 or 8 years of not wearing the beret (AKA-last month), our stage manager in the last play I was in wore the cutest black beret. It reminded me of the one I had at home that I had neglected for far too long. After the play was finally over with (because I didn't what to seem like a copy-cat, even though I kind-sorta am being one;), I decided to wear my beret. I was scared that I could not pull it off, but I managed to do so! When I wear it or see someone wearing one, it always makes me think of Paris (of course! That's where it was born!) espressos, poetry, and generally artsy things. Don't know if berets have the same effect on you as they do me...

Here are a few pictures I took of myself while wearing the my beret. Tell me what you think...

This was my Facebook picture up until yesterday

Okay, I know, very random. SAY WHAT?

My Favorite Singers

Who doesn't love the singer in a band? Most of the time, the lead singer is the voice (duh) and face of all the greatest bands. As much as I hate to admit that, for the most part, it's true.

My favorite type of singer would have to be the ones that sound the most unique, not necessarily the best singer. But, I think you don't have to have a great voice to be a great singer...just something different.

I made a short list of my favorite singers and why I like them. All of the singers are rock/alternative singers because that's all I ever listen to! Must expand my musical taste...

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith

Oh how I love Steven Tyler! He has a perfect voice for good old rock n' roll. To me, his voice is raspy and husky, yet smooth n' flowing. Also pretty clear...I can almost understand everything he sings in a song. I also enjoy his style and personalty...he sure has a lot of spunk!

-Best Songs-

Walk This Way

Dude (Looks Like a Lady)

Dream On

Love in an Elevator

Janie's Got a Gun

Chad Kroeger of Nickelback

Chad Kroeger Pictures, Images and Photos

I just love how you can hear emotion in Chad Kroeger's voice. To tell you the truth, I would not even probably listen to Nickelback if it wasn't for him. I've seen Nickelback live in concert and Chad Kroeger sounds just as good live as he does on the radio.

-Best Songs-

Never Again

Figured You Out

Too Bad

Something in Your Mouth

Animals

Side of a Bullet

Someone That You're With

Shakin' Hands

Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe

Vince Neil Pictures, Images and Photos

Vince Neil may not have the best voice in rock n'roll, but he does have one of the most unique. I absolutely love the whiny and high-pitch sounds in his voice. In Mötley Crüe's book, The Dirt, Vince said his voice sounds like "Rob Zander with his balls pinched." Interesting way of describing your own voice, but, it seems to hit the nail on the head.

-Best Songs-

Dr. Feelgood

Dancing on Glass

Shout at the Devil

Kickstart My Heart

Sticky Sweet

Rattlesnake Shake

Rock n' Roll Junkie

James Michael of Sixx: A.M.

JAMES MICHAEL Pictures, Images and Photos

James Michael's voice sort of reminds me a lot of Chad Kroeger's. Like Chad Kroeger, he really knows how to put emotion in his voice. It's mainly sadness in The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, but I'm sure he could make his voice sound anyway. On top of it all that, he has an incredibly powerful voice.

-Best Songs-

Life if Beautiful

Heart Failure

Girl With Golden Eyes

Van Nuys

Pray For Me

Austin Winkler of Hinder

Austin Winkler Pictures, Images and Photos

Gravelly, raspy, and rough...that's the best way to describe Austin Winkler's voice. I first fell in love with his voice (and Hinder) back when I first heard Lips of an Angel on the radio a few years back. Hinder is another band I witnessed live in concert. He still impressed me!

-Best Songs-

Lips of an Angel

Get Stoned

Room 21

Better Than Me

Take it to the Limit

So, there you have it. Of course, my list of singers doesn't end there.

But, before I seal this with a kiss, let me ask you something: who is your favorite singer?

Sealed with a kiss...
